Privacy Policy
myfoursouschefs.com helps families scan ingredients, generate recipes and meal plans, save recipes, build shopping lists, and receive optional reminders. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
Information We Collect
- Account information: email address, optional display name, and authentication records managed by Supabase.
- Ingredient scans: photos selected from your camera or gallery, processed temporarily to identify ingredients.
- Recipe data: saved recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, dietary preferences entered for a session, and related app settings.
- Usage data: endpoint usage, timestamps, user ID or IP address, and AI token counts used to enforce limits and prevent abuse.
- Push notification data: Expo push tokens and notification preferences if you allow notifications.
- Payment status: Stripe customer and subscription identifiers if you subscribe to premium features.
Ingredient Photos and AI Processing
Photos are uploaded only when you choose to scan ingredients. They are processed by our API and AI provider, Anthropic, to identify ingredients. Uploaded images are not stored as user photos in our database and are deleted from temporary server storage shortly after processing.
How We Use Information
- Authenticate your account and keep your saved recipes, meal plans, and shopping lists synced.
- Generate recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, and ingredient suggestions.
- Send optional meal, shopping, and recipe reminders when you enable notifications.
- Enforce usage limits, protect the service from abuse, and operate billing for premium features.
- Understand aggregate product usage with privacy-focused analytics.
Third-Party Services
We use Supabase for authentication and database services, Anthropic for AI ingredient and recipe processing, Expo for push notification delivery, Stripe for payment processing, Google and Apple for optional sign-in, and Umami for cookie-free analytics.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not use advertising networks or ad trackers.
- We do not store full payment card numbers, CVV codes, or full bank details.
- We do not access your Google Drive, contacts, or other Google services when you use Google sign-in.
Data Deletion
You can delete your account in the mobile app from Settings, or use our account deletion instructions. Account deletion removes your profile, saved recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, notification tokens, and associated personal account data, subject to records we must retain for legal, security, or billing reasons.
Children's Privacy
The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
